Chris Frenier is an undergraduate student at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin majoring in Philosophy and Economics. His work in philosophy will focus on social, political, and legal thought and a minor in German is highly possible. Chris graduated from South Anchorage High School in Anchorage, Alaska in the summer of 2008 after attending the Al Neuharth Free Spirit Conference in March 2008.
Notable accomplishments:
– 2006 Alaska Press Club Award: 3rd Place Best Education Reporting
– Contributor and Producer of “In Other News,” a public radio news
magazine program from the Alaska Teen Media Institute
– Radio pieces appearing on “AK” and “The Alaska Public Radio
Network;” the former a statewide news magazine show, the later a
statewide news network
– Male representative from Alaska at the 2008 Al Neuharth Free Spirit
Conference
Chris has been published in the Marquette Tribune but is currently suspending his journalism work to pursue other creative outlets. He has plans in the works to begin working on radio documentary pieces for WMUR, Marquette Radio.
He publishes a blog about college life in the Midwest called “One Lost Grizzly Bear.”
Chris is a member of the Marquette Club Crew team and also enjoys reading, hiking, and skiing. He is a member of the STAR Leadership Program at Marquette, as well as the One on One Mentoring Program.
