Adrianna Amato

Adrianna Amato is an aspiring broadcast journalist at the University of Missouri – Columbia, She is currently involved with Radio-Television News Directors Association and works at the NBC Affiliate station KOMU.


Born and raised in Arizona, this journalist started her career in high school by writing for her high school newspaper. Amato also began to write for RISE Magazine, a high school sports magazine dedicated to recognizing the accomplishments of young athletes across the country. During her senior year, she became editor-in-chief of her high school newspaper, The Sentinel, and managed the newspaper’s staff. 


In January of 2008, Amato was awarded the Al Neuharth Free Spirit Journalism scholarship and attended a conference in March, with 101 other high school journalists. The experience provided much experience and helped Amato realize that journalism is where she is meant to be.


Preceding her high school graduation, Amato was chosen as the East Valley Tribune High School Scholar for Journalism. She was nominated for her dedication to her high school newspaper and won the award for attending the Al Neuharth Free Spirit Journalism Conference.


While at University of Missouri – Columbia, Amato will major in Broadcast Journalism with a double minor in Political Science and Psychology.
